Ways to Gift
Whether you choose to make annual contributions to the
Community Hospital Health Foundation as a member of the
Caring Club, make a distinctive gift by becoming a member
of the Heritage Society, or benefit the hospital through
an Endowment Gift, there are many ways in which you can
give:
Cash Gift
This is the most common and popular form of charitable
giving. For taxpayers who itemize deductions, cash gifts
offer deductions from gross income.
Non-cash Property
Stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate and other
assets may help you make gifts at a lower cost. When you
give appreciated property, you may receive a deduction for
the full value of the asset, and avoid the capital gains
tax that would have been owed had you sold it.
A Gift Annuity
This option can pay you income for life with the
balance designated as a charitable gift. This arrangement
is a contract between you and the Foundation, wherein you
transfer cash or other liquid assets such as stocks and
bonds to the Foundation. In exchange, the Foundation
provides regular payments for life.
The Physician Scholarship Fund
This is an endowment that provides incentive scholarships to prospective doctors. The intent is to encourage
local students to return to this area to practice, and to
recruit doctors who are new to this area.
Other forms of giving include:
- Make a memorial or honorary gift naming a loved one.
- Including a gift to the Community Hospital Health
Foundation in your will or trust.
- Deeding your home or farm now, but retaining the
right to live in your home or work your farm for your
lifetime. (You can also have a survivor enjoy life- time
occupancy.)
- Naming Community Hospital Health Foundation as owner/beneficiary of a life insurance
policy.
- Naming the Foundation as beneficiary of an
individual retirement account, or a retirement or
pension fund.
