Endowment Funds
Giving to the Community Hospital Health Foundation
Endowment Fund is truly a gift for the future. Endowment
fund gifts are invested, and only the interest earnings of
the gift are used to support programs - the gift principal
remains intact.
In
this way, a gift to the Endowment Fund continues to give
indefinitely, providing needed funding for the hospital,
and benefiting generations of families in southwest
Nebraska and northwest Kansas.
By providing a stable and dependable income stream,
Endowment Fund earnings give Community Hospital the
flexibility to meet the ever-changing health care needs of
the community.
There are three primary ways in which endowment gifts
are being used to benefit Community Hospital:
Board-Designated Endowments
These funds are not earmarked by the donor for specific
purposes, allowing the Board of Directors the flexibility
to utilize endowment earnings in the manner that best
meets hospital needs at any given time.
Donor-Designated Endowments
These are endowed gifts which support specific
purposes. You may, for example, designate that earnings
from your gift be used to purchase medical equipment, or
provide for a specific service such as physical therapy.
(To ensure that your designated gift will be of optimum
benefit to the purpose you choose, we recommend that you
first discuss these options with the Foundation.)
Reinvestment
The Foundation Board of Directors recognize, too, that
growth of the Endowment Fund is not only a matter of new
gifts - it also depends in part on reinvestment of some
earnings. Reinvestment, a further sign of our careful
stewardship of gifts, means the Endowment will continue to
grow and benefit the community we serve.
